Our students are committed to a sustainable future: Eco-Schools

Eco-Schools is the world’s largest sustainable development education programme, offering a framework accessible to all schools in the countries where we operate. All Globeducate schools are committed to integrating this programme and to achieving, and then maintaining, the prestigious ‘Green Flag’ status. This award recognises schools that stand out for their environmental initiatives and their commitment to a sustainable future.

Across our network, our pupils and teachers work with their Eco-Schools committees to find inspiring ways to celebrate globally recognised environmental events, such as Earth Hour, Earth Week and Earth Day.

These unifying days bring the entire Globeducate family together. Students and teachers of various ages and cultures share their actions with their peers and families, thereby strengthening their shared commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.

Developing 21st-century skills: the STEAM programme

At the heart of our vision at Globeducate – which is to prepare students to become global citizens capable of shaping their environment – lies our commitment to equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to make a meaningful impact on the future. We firmly believe that every pupil has the potential to contribute to a better world, and we work tirelessly to equip them to become agents of change, ready to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

Collaborative learning encourages practical activities that stimulate the curiosity and creativity of our youngest pupils.

Through hands-on projects aligned with the curriculum, we develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

For older pupils, we offer opportunities for advanced learning through coding and robotics, whilst implementing a mentoring system to support younger pupils.

Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) play a crucial role in every student’s educational journey at Globeducate. We collaborate with LEGO® Education and Arts
International to enrich our STEAM programme and provide students with the tools they need to excel in these fields.

International Events

Globeducate schools around the world come together every year for a series of international events.

Throughout the year, we regularly organise activities and invite our pupils and teachers to attend or participate remotely. These events strengthen the sense of community within our network and allow everyone to exchange ideas, learn from one another and celebrate collective initiatives.

Our events are organised around three main themes:

Globeducate Events: six global events.
Globeducate Agenda: initiatives with the WWF, Eco-Schools, debates.
Globeducate Learning Communities: outdoor activities, reading, STEAM.

Globeducate Robotics Challenge

Since its launch in 2022, the Globeducate France Robotics Challenge has brought together pupils from primary school to sixth form around a common goal. This competition is organised with the aim of promoting the development of STEAM learning within Globeducate schools in France, breaking down the barriers between different subjects taught in the classroom and developing digital skills. This challenge encourages pupils to collaborate on designing and programming robots in a fun, international setting. Initially open exclusively to pupils in French schools, this challenge has been extended for the first time to Globeducate schools worldwide in 2025.

What is the concept behind the Robotics Challenge?

Thanks to our partnership with LEGO® Education, participants in the challenge train throughout the year before coming together for a major competition. They are then provided with the LEGO® Education SPIKE™ robot in kit form, along with a connection box enabling them to add sensors and actuators, such as various types of motors, a screen, or even a buzzer. Using these components, teams must build a robot capable of tackling a specific challenge. This offers them a unique opportunity to tackle problems step by step, encouraging learning through trial and error.

The Robotics Challenge: the culmination of a year of preparation

Throughout the school year, pupils at primary, middle and secondary schools within the Globeducate group are gradually introduced to the basics of programming, using the visual programming method ‘Scratch4’. At secondary school, this approach evolves towards the Python language, which is widely used in scientific and technological fields.

Each team taking part in the challenge follows a training programme comprising increasingly complex tasks, enabling steady progress. At the grand final, the teams come together for a competition centred around a specific theme. On this occasion, they must programme and assemble their robot to tackle new challenges of increasing difficulty throughout the day.
A real-time leaderboard, displayed on a large screen, allows teams to constantly adjust their strategy and rack up points. The teams that have accumulated the most points throughout the competition have the honour of taking to the podium and winning a host of prizes.

Robotics Challenge 2022

This first edition of the Robotics Challenge, organised by Globeducate France, took place on 10 May at the EIB Monceau School in Paris. With over 100 pupils divided into 35 teams, all school levels were represented. From primary to secondary school, nine schools from the Globeducate group joined this fun and educational adventure full of discoveries: EIB Lamartine, EIB Monceau, EIB Monceau College, Hattemer 8e (now Hattemer Bilingue), EIB Grenelle, EIB de la Jonchère, EIB Étoile Sixth Form and ICS Cote d’Azur. Robotics Challenge 2023

This second edition of the Robotics Challenge was a great success. Almost all Globeducate schools in France took part in this competition, namely EIB Monceau Primary School, EIB Monceau Secondary School, EIB La Jonchère, EIB Grenelle, EIB Etoile Sixth Form College, EIB Lamartine, Hattemer Bilingue, ICS Côte d’Azur and the International School of Nice (remotely). Robotics Challenge 2024

On Tuesday, 21 May 2024, the third edition of the Globeducate France Robotics Challenge took place, a highly anticipated event that brought together young talents from various schools in Paris and the south of France. As in previous years, the challenge took place at EIB Monceau College, hosting 44 teams representing 10 schools: EIB Lamartine, EIB Monceau, EIB Grenelle, EIB de la Jonchère, Collège EIB Monceau, Lycée EIB Étoile, ICS Paris, Hattemer Bilingue 8ème, ICS Côte d'Azur, and ISN Nice, the latter two participating remotely.

Robotics Challenge 2025

For its fourth edition, the Globeducate Robotics Challenge was open for the first time in its history to all schools in the Globeducate network.

Tuesday, 20 May 2025, saw the fourth edition of the Globeducate Robotics Challenge, an event that has now become a highlight in our schools’ calendars. For the first time, the 2025 edition was open to international participation. Collège Monceau welcomed teams from schools in France, Spain, Italy, Morocco, Cyprus and Canada. Some took part in person in Paris, others remotely. This hybrid format brought together students from all over the world around the theme of robotics, fostering enriching exchanges and the sharing of skills across borders.

Robotics Challenge 2026

For the second consecutive year, EIB Monceau Middle School opened its doors to Globeducate schools from around the world for a Robotics Challenge inspired by the spirit of Roland-Garros.

On May 19, 2026, 155 students from five different countries came together—either online or in Paris—to take part in a challenge that combined technical, strategic, scientific, and creative skills. Among them, special recognition goes to the young referees from EIB Monceau Middle School, whose essential contribution made this event possible.
