At Globeducate schools in France, the protection and well-being of pupils – commonly referred to as safeguarding – is a top priority. Our educational mission is underpinned by a safe, caring and supportive environment, enabling every pupil to learn, flourish and develop with confidence. At EIB, our teaching methods are designed to meet the needs of every child, thereby creating an environment conducive to our pupils’ development.

Safeguarding: the protection and well-being of pupils

The schools within the group implement rigorous safeguarding procedures, inspired by international best practice and in compliance with French legal requirements. This framework includes the implementation of clear child protection policies, accessible to the entire educational community, and the appointment of Designated Safeguarding Leads who are specifically trained to identify and address situations of concern, as well as protocols for reporting, monitoring and coordinating with the relevant authorities, such as the French Ministry of Education, social services and law enforcement. 

Prevention is central to our approach. Teaching and support staff receive regular training to recognise signs of vulnerability, distress or abuse, foster a supportive environment where pupils feel safe to share their concerns, and promote respect, diversity, inclusion and responsible behaviour. Workshops and programmes tailored to different age groups also enable pupils to develop essential skills: understanding their rights, knowing how to ask for help, recognising inappropriate behaviour and adopting safe digital practices. 

Safeguarding is a commitment shared by the entire educational community. Families, teachers, non-teaching staff and external partners are informed of the policies and protocols in place and actively participate in them. This collective effort ensures consistent and ongoing vigilance. 

By placing pupils’ well-being at the heart of everything they do, Globeducate and the EIB Paris bilingual schools ensure a calm and protective school environment, where physical, emotional and psychological safety is guaranteed. This strong commitment contributes to the quality of the educational experience and the development of every pupil.

Advisory Board (Global Advisory Board)

The group comprises: Baroness Estelle Morris, former UK Secretary of State for Education and Skills; Professor Mick Waters, a renowned educator and author; Trillium Hibbeln, an international expert in school improvement; Carlo Giardinetti, a sustainability and net-zero strategy advisor; and Priya Lakhani OBE, CEO of CENTURY Tech and a member of the UK Government’s Artificial Intelligence Board, who works with us on issues relating to online safety, technology and artificial intelligence in education. 

The committee provides a collaborative space that fosters the emergence of new ideas, which our senior leadership teams can draw upon to benefit from its expertise, analysis and advice.

We are delighted to be working with these five leading international figures in the field of education: a strong alliance that helps drive our continued development and strengthens our position as a leader in international bilingual education.

Priya Lakhani OBE
Biography

A World Economic Forum Tech Pioneer and recipient of multiple prestigious awards, Priya is the founding CEO of CENTURY Tech, an award-winning ed tech company. In 2021 she was appointed a Non-Exec Board Member to the Dept. for Digital, Culture, Sport & Media, focusing on online safety and technology. Priya was appointed to the UK Government´s AI Council in 2019. Her business´ charitable foundation has a strong humanitarian focus.

Trillium Hibbeln
Biography

Associate Director for Accreditation and School Improvement for the Commission on International Education at NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges.) In this role, Trillium supports 300 + schools in 82 countries as they seek to transform into learning communities of the future. Trillium founded non-profit organisation, the Power of Education, which operates a KG to grade 9 school and community development program in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and is passionate about educational access and quality in developing countries, education in crisis and girls' education.

Carlo Giardinetti
Biography

Sustainability Lead Advisor, Deloitte.  Dean of Executive Education, Franklin University, Switzerland. Carlo specialises in continuing and executive education, and brings a diverse range of experience – from professional football and hospitality to leadership coaching – to his role. He is currently researching financing net-zero strategies for organisations.

Mick Waters
Biography

Former Head of the Qualification and Curriculum Authority (QCA) and renowned educator, author and researcher; former Chief Education Officer for Manchester and current President of the Curriculcum Foundation. Mick began his career in primary teaching and is still often found working with children in classrooms. He is known for pushing the boundaries to improve learning and to make schools better.

Estelle Morris
Biography

Former Minister of Education, England, and Chair of Institute of Effective Education, Member of the House of Lords. Baroness Morris taught in an inner-city multiracial comprehensive school for 18 years and entered parliament in 1992, leaving in 2005 to be a member of the House of Lords. She is also a trustee of The National Poetry Archive and chairs the Council at Goldsmiths College, London.
