Hélène Decker, graduate of the Louvre School, offers a three hour "I Discover Paris" workshop to discover Parisian monuments and the art of living in different eras.
Each session begins with a story that allows children to discover a monument from a specific era.
The schedule:
- Reading followed by questions and explanations with visual support, which the children enhance with scrapbooking tape in a notebook (color documents provided)
- Production of a personal, artistic creation based on the monument in question
- Tours around the city

- History of the construction of Notre Dame.

- Presentation of the thermal baths of Cluny.
- Chronological history of Paris since Lutetia.
- Creation of a model of the arena.
Session 7: (08/11/2023) The secrets of St. Denis
- Legend of St. Denis and historical description of the Basilica.
- Presentation of the Basilica, focusing on the genesis of Gothic art in the Île-de-France region and the interest of its sculptures and treasures.
- Creation of a stained glass window.
Session 8: (15/11/2023) Visit to St. Denis Basilica.
Session 9: (22/11/2023) Watch out for the train!
- Presentation of the Montparnasse train station- via the accident of 1895.
- Highlighting the phenomenon of the Industrial Revolution and the modernity of Paris.
- Importance of the various stations, including the Orsay train station (presentation of Impressionism and photography in the period).
