In the heart of the 7th arrondissement, just minutes away from Les Invalides, EIB Grenelle private school opened its doors in September 2021. Welcoming students from nursery up to Year 6 (Maternelle to CM2) to begin with, the bilingual school will follow the programmes of the Ministry of National Education while offering a fully bilingual teaching programme, with 50% of classes in English and 50% in French.

Bilingual Middle School EIB de la Jonchère

EIB de la Jonchère bilingual Middle School is open to pupils aged 11-15. Our pupils follow the French national curriculum while enjoying 50% of teaching hours in the English language.Each class has a maximum of 24 pupils, and there are 31 hours of classes per week – five hours more than the average state school. School hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm every day, except on Wednesdays, when classes are held from 9am to 12:45 pm.

We guide our students towards academic excellence while encouraging their interests and surrounding them with a caring environment. The head teacher and educational team monitor students’ progress closely. Students often work in small groups to gain self-confidence, build a sense of teamwork and develop public speaking skills.

Bilingual teaching

Classes are divided into English and French as follows:

Classes taught in French:  French, mathematics, sports education, technology
Classes taught in English: history and geography, English, sciences, art
Extra tuition is available in either language for students that need a little help.

Exams and Assessments

Students in Year 7 (6eme) and Year 10 (3eme) take part in examinations. In Year 7, there are checkpoint exams that look at fluency in language, grammar, and spelling. In Year 10, students take IGCSEs or first certificate, plus the French national exams, the Diplôme National du Brevet.

Depending on the child's educational background, we also offer an adapted learning programme: the English Passerelle for pupils in 6e and 5e (Grades 6 and 7). 

THE DIPLOME NATIONAL DU BREVET

In 2023, our bilingual Middle School students obtained 100% success in the National Brevet.
We would also like to highlight the fact that 90% of our students obtained their diploma with honours.
