Curriculum and Languages

For more than 60 years, EIB has fostered an educational project that is unique in France. We are proud to offer our students a multilingual and multicultural environment.

A truly bilingual experience

Each student at EIB de la Jonchère private school – wherever they come from or wherever they are in their education – enjoys a French-English bilingual structure.

The student body is drawn from a well-balanced mix of local French residents and expatriate families. At EIB de La Jonchère in particular, we have an excellent balance between French families and expatriate families. Teaching is split 50/50 between English and French across all age groups.

To meet this commitment to fully bilingual learning, students attend school for more hours per week than at a traditional State or State-contracted school. There are three extra teaching hours per week in nursery and primary, and five extra hours per week at bilingual middle school. Additionally, our students have classes every day of the week, including Wednesday mornings.

Students take the International Cambridge Exams to certify their native English language ability.
