A collaborative teaching approach
Supernumerary teachers play an essential role at EIB de la Jonchère. They provide extra support for struggling students, and assist teachers with class management and the development of innovative teaching projects. Thanks to this flexibility, students benefit from enhanced support, whether through personalised tutoring, creative workshops or extracurricular activities. Co-teaching allows for diversity in teaching methods and greater support for each student.
Supernumerary teachers also make it easier to manage differentiated teaching. Their presence makes it possible to respond in a more targeted way to the various levels of proficiency within the same class, by offering a personalised approach. For example, when a lead teacher leads a group activity, the supernumerary teacher can focus on a sub-group of students requiring particular support. This collaboration not only enhances the quality of teaching, but also improves classroom management and student behavior, creating a more harmonious and productive learning environment. Thanks to their diverse expertise, these teachers contribute to the overall development of the students, while offering the flexibility essential to the development of innovative educational projects, such as drama workshops, green initiatives or extracurricular activities.
