Bilingual Primary School EIB Lamartine

Lessons at our bilingual private school in Paris 16 are in accordance with the official programmes of the French Ministry of Education, while integrating daily English learning, based on EIB methods developed over 70 years of teaching. English makes up 25% of the curriculum in the elementary cycle. In addition to four days of classes each week, EIB Lamartine also offers cultural and artistic workshops in English on Wednesday mornings.

Primary School

The primary school is made up of five classes:

1. Cours preparatoire or CP (equivalent to Year 2)
2. Cours elementaire 1 or CE1 (equivalent to Year 3)
3. Cours elementaire 2 or CE2 (equivalent to Year 4)
4. Cours moyen 1 or CM1 (equivalent to Year 5)
5. Cours moyen 2 CM2 (equivalent to Year 6)

In the early years, pupils of our private primary school benefit from extra attention to help them flourish in the four fundamentals of learning. These are:

• Reading
• Writing
• Counting
• Respect for others

In Year 6, students have the opportunity to take the "Cambridge Young Learners" exam validated by the British Council.

For students entering EIB Lamartine bilingual primary school in Years 5 & 6, a minimum level of English is required, determined through testing run by our English teachers.

Spanish is offered as an optional subject from the age of 8, in Year 5 (CM1).
