An innovative approach to the French National Curriculum

In both cycles, our students follow the French curriculum under contract with the State, complemented by daily English language learning. In addition, our students benefit from an international and dynamic environment where many nationalities are represented. Primary students do not have formal classes on Wednesdays, instead, they are invited to take part in complementary cultural and artistic workshops held in English.

Students spend 25% of their time being taught in English, divided into 6 groups, according to language level, from beginner to native fluency.

From Year 3 onwards, pupils take part in the "Cambridge Young Learners" programme, a fun, motivating English language series, aimed at children in primary and lower-secondary education. Cambridge Young Learners exams are validated by the British Council. Native speakers take part in a different programme where they begin to read English language novels.Spanish and Mandarin classes are offered in Years 5 and 6 (CM1 and CM2).

Weekly music lessons and Wednesday workshops

In addition, primary school pupils follow music lessons given by a qualified English-speaking teacher. EIB Monceau bilingual school also offers workshops in English on Wednesday mornings. Created by our English department, these activities encourage the development of the language through artistic and cultural activities.

Digital learning

During primary school, students learn to use word processing and presentation tools confidently with the goal of making a presentation to share with the class, using the interactive whiteboard. In the last year of primary school, pupils are taught to use a tablet in an educational way, to create a digital book, build 3D shapes, use a spreadsheet and program a robot.

Joining the bilingual school in Years 5 or 6

For students entering the school in Year 5 or 6, a minimum level of English is required. Beginner students will be accepted on the condition that they participate in the intensive English "Let's Take Off! " classes on Wednesday mornings for one academic year.
