Elementary Cycle
CYCLE 2 (Year 2, 3 & 4): The Cycle of Fundamental Learning
Year 2 (CP)
In Year 2, children begin to learn to read and write in French. They also continue their English language learning using the Jolly Phonics method.
Year 3 (CE1)
In Year 3, pupils in our bilingual school further develop their language skills while also focusing on teamwork and motor skills. At this stage, pupils work towards:
- Reading with a fluency of at least 30 words per minute
- Starting to work independently and in groups
- Being able to communicate a problem clearly
- Answering simple questions with one or two sentences (both orally and in writing)
Year 4 (CE2)
In Year 4, students focus on:
- Understanding and answering questions about a 15-line text
- Solving problems independently
- Working autonomously
- Respecting others’ ideas and collaborating with peers
CYCLE 3 (Year 5, 6 & 7): The Consolidation Cycle
In Cycle 3, students consolidate their learning across all subjects, including science, technology, history, geography, and art history.
