Nursery Bilingual School EIB Wagram

Nursery school, or maternelle in French, covers the first three years of schooling: Nursery Class, Reception Class, and Year 1.

No prior language skills are required to enroll in the EIB Wagram nursery school.

Bilingual Learning from Early Years

Our nursery school classes are taught 50% in English and 50% in French.

In addition to learning core skills in both languages, our experienced teachers help each child develop their personality, gain confidence in overcoming challenges, and foster a love of learning. By the time our students leave nursery school, they are ready and eager to begin elementary school.

Learning Goals

Nursery School: A Time for Socialisation and Language Development

The curriculum is organised into five key learning areas:

  1. Develop language skills in all its forms.
  2. Respond, express, and understand through physical activity.
  3. Respond, express, and understand through artistic activities.
  4. Acquire foundational mathematical skills.
  5. Explore the world around them.

Kindergarten students are introduced to reading in English using the Jolly Phonics method, which helps them develop phonetic awareness in a fun and engaging way.

Skills Acquired for Primary School

By the end of their final year in nursery school (Grande Section), students at EIB Wagram are proficient in understanding and expressing themselves in both French and English. They can identify and write letters in cursive script and recite poetry in both languages.

In mathematics, our students are introduced to shapes, colors, spatial concepts, and explore numbers up to 50.

On the social front, we guide our young learners to:

  • Develop strong school habits, such as attention, focus, and following instructions.
  • Enhance their observation skills and logical thinking.
  • Improve their social skills, fostering positive interactions and teamwork.
