International Day of Mathematics Challenge: A competition between EIB Grenelle and EIB La Jonchère students

International Day of Mathematics Challenge: A competition between EIB Grenelle and EIB La Jonchère students

Friday the 14th of March 2025 was not any ordinary day. There was an unusual buzz in the air, and for good reason. To celebrate International Mathematics Day, pupils from EIB La Jonchère and EIB Grenelle pulled up their sleeves and prepared themselves for a head-to-head in everything mathematical.

Held for the very first time this year, the challenge brought together students from CP to CM2. And what a showdown! Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, time, geometry and a few word problems to keep everyone on their toes! The pupils faced each challenge with gusto and determination, with one aim in mind, TO WIN!

The highlight of the day was the final gathering on Microsoft Teams, where all participating classes connected virtually to share their experiences and discover the results. This year, EIB Grenelle narrowly claimed victory. Congratulations to them! They will be the custodians of the winning trophy until next year's International Day of Mathematics Challenge.

Following the success of this first edition, the teaching team now hopes to open the competition to other Globeducate schools. The ambition? To turn this event into an annual tradition, promoting collaboration, pushing students to challenge themselves, and celebrating the joy of mathematics.
