Eco Week 2026 at EIB Trocadéro: a week of engagement and awareness

Eco Week 2026 at EIB Trocadéro: a week of engagement and awareness

The Globeducate network, of which EIB Paris schools are a part, organizes an Eco Week each year dedicated to raising awareness of environmental issues. As part of the 2026 edition, students at EIB Trocadéro took part in a wide range of educational and creative activities focused on sustainable development.

Throughout the week, the youngest pupils were introduced to environmental awareness through hands-on, age-appropriate activities. In Nursery, students contributed to the school garden by bringing small plants. They also created artwork using recycled bottle caps and celebrated the arrival of spring through fun and festive activities.

In Reception, pupils explored ways to protect the planet by planting wheat and learning about natural cycles. They also learned an eco-friendly song, helping them adopt environmentally responsible habits in an engaging and playful way.

In Year 1, students explored the concept of sustainable housing by imagining and building their own eco-city using construction games. This activity introduced them to the first principles of responsible spatial planning.

In Year 2, pupils deepened their knowledge of nature by reading books, particularly focusing on trees and their essential role in the ecosystem.

Students in Years 3 and 4 were introduced to recycling and waste sorting. As part of a practical approach, they were encouraged to bring homemade snacks and fruit to reduce packaging and develop more sustainable habits.

Finally, students in Year 5 and Year 6 worked on water conservation, a resource essential to life. Through their activities, they became aware of the importance of simple actions to save water and protect the environment.

Beyond classroom projects, all students were encouraged to adopt more environmentally responsible behaviors in their daily lives, particularly by reducing waste and choosing sustainable alternatives.

This Eco Week enabled students to deepen their understanding of environmental issues while strengthening key skills such as curiosity, creativity, and engagement. By combining theoretical learning with hands-on experiences, this week perfectly reflects EIB Trocadéro’s commitment to educating responsible, aware, and active citizens of tomorrow.
