At EIB Grenelle, pupils from Year 1 and Year 5 of Mr GALY's classes had the opportunity to work on the theme of the Francophone Week.
The aim of this project is to promote the French language in the world, through the knowledge of French-speaking countries or regions.
The choice of a French-speaking country in particular was made with the children :
- Gabon for the Grande Section
- Belgium for CM1
To prepare the week in the best possible way, the teacher asked the children to do some preparatory work at home. This work could take various forms: poster, presentation, digital presentation, etc. The aim was that, once in the classroom, the children could express themselves for a few minutes on a given subject (the country's flag, the country's capital, animals, a well-known personality, landscapes, the weather, etc.).
Pupils from Year 1 had to bring photos or pictures about the chosen country.
Pupils from Year 5 had to make a short oral presentation on one of the subjects given beforehand in order to share their findings with their classmates. This presentation had to be based on a visual aid or a Power Point for example.
Children were happy to learn more about these foreign countries !
