Looking back at the Globeducate Academic Olympics 2024

Looking back at the Globeducate Academic Olympics 2024

At EIB de la Jonchère, we are committed to offering our students unique and enriching experiences. In 2023, the Globeducate Academic Olympics took place in Paris, France, successfully co-organised by Collège EIB Monceau and ICS Paris. This year, the 2024 edition took place in Spain, at O Castro British International School and Coruña British International School. Five of our students enthusiastically took part, proudly representing our school.

A memorable international event

During the event, our students took on exciting academic challenges alongside peers from other schools in the Globeducate network. The maths, robotics and science challenges, as well as the treasure hunt, gave them the opportunity to develop their skills while discovering a new culture.

As Irene so aptly summed up:

‘It was the best experience I have had in school because I was able to meet nice people, get to know Vigo better and participate in an international competition.’

The adventure also left its mark on Adam, who confided:

‘This was for sure one of the most memorable memories and interesting things I did in my life and I would definitely participate again.’

A week full of discoveries

Thanks to the guidance and support of their Spanish teacher, Ms Fernandez, the students enjoyed a unique stay, forging links and broadening their horizons. Alexandra S. expressed her gratitude in these words:

‘It was a fantastic week! I am very grateful to be here and I am specially grateful for the school and specially Ms. Fernandez for bringing us to Spain.’

Many thanks to the host schools

Our warmest thanks go to the teams at O Castro British International School and Coruña British International School, whose outstanding work made this event an enriching and unforgettable experience for all participants.

Towards new opportunities

The Academic Olympics offered our students a real human and academic adventure. We look forward to continuing to offer them such opportunities, which will enrich their academic and personal development.

Well done to our students for their commitment and thank you to everyone who contributed to this great success!
