Our students took part in the national reading contest “Petits Champions de la Lecture”

Fifty-two CM2 students from EIB Monceau took part in the National Petits Champions de la Lecture competition, a nationwide read-aloud challenge for CM1 and CM2 pupils. Each child selected a short extract from a fiction book they enjoyed and wanted to share, and read it aloud in front of an audience within a 2–3 minute time limit.

The students approached this project with real enthusiasm. It began as a collective classroom initiative and gradually became a more personal experience, as each child worked on delivering their own reading.

Their strong commitment led to clear progress in reading aloud skills, particularly in expressiveness and confidence, as well as greater ease speaking in front of others and conveying emotion. The project also created meaningful moments of exchange, with students sharing feedback on each other’s performances and recommending books to their classmates.

For the teachers, it was rewarding to see the students enjoy the process, improve, and push themselves. This shared experience will undoubtedly remain a highlight of their CM2 year and help nurture an even stronger interest in reading.

Bravo à nos 2 lauréats

Congratulations to our two winners! Well done to Clémentine and Philip.
