Globeducate Robotics Challenge 2025: the first international edition under the sign of Retro Gaming

Globeducate Robotics Challenge 2025: the first international edition under the sign of Retro Gaming

On Tuesday 20th May 2025, the fourth edition of the Globeducate Robotics Challenge took place, a now emblematic event in our schools' calendar. For the first time, the 2025 edition was open to international participation. Collège EIB Monceau welcomed teams from schools in France, Spain, Italy, Morocco, Cyprus and Canada. Some took part face-to-face in Paris, others remotely. This hybrid format brought together students from all over the world to work on robotics, encouraging enriching exchanges and the sharing of skills across borders.

An inspiring and fun theme: Retro Gaming

This year's theme, Retro Gaming, plunged participants into the world of iconic video games with well-known references such as Mario Bros. The teams, divided into three categories (elementary, middle school and high school), had to complete missions on a game mat designed to test their coding skills, logic and creativity.

The events took place in two phases (morning and afternoon), with a variety of programming challenges on Lego™ Spike robots.

Committed referees

Students from Collège EIB Monceau took on the role of referees throughout the day, both face-to-face and remotely. Whether or not they had already taken part in the challenge in previous years, they demonstrated their seriousness, responsiveness, and team spirit. Their role was essential in ensuring that the events ran smoothly awarding points and supporting the teams by answering their questions.

An unforgettable day

The day ended with a ceremony at which Julie Costes, President of Globeducate France, and Jean-Xavier Moreau, Managing Director of EIB Paris schools, took the floor. Their speeches underlined the importance attached to innovation and robotics in the group's schools.

A huge thank you to all the teachers, coordinators, referees and technical staff for their commitment throughout this adventure, as well as to Boris Maloberti and Romain Rachenne, initiators and organisers of this challenge. Their passion, creativity and commitment make this event possible year after year.

Congratulations to all the teams for their creativity, perseverance and team spirit. We look forward to seeing you in 2026 for a new edition that will be even more ambitious and inspiring!
