Primary curriculum
Primary school
The education provided in primary schools ensures pupils acquire the basics:
reading, writing, arithmetic and respect for others.
Furthermore, primary school education:
- Encourages the development of intelligence, artistic sensitivity, and manual, physical and sporting skills
- Provides the foundations of historical, geographical, scientific and technical knowledge
- Provides education in the visual and musical arts
- Ensures the teaching of a modern foreign language and may include an introduction to linguistic diversity
- Contributes to the understanding and independent, responsible use of the media, particularly digital media
- Ensures the acquisition and understanding of the requirement to respect the individual, their origins and their differences
- Instils respect for children’s rights and gender equality

Fostering civic engagement
Through personalised learning, pupils at our international primary schools thrive whilst discovering new technologies, the importance of environmental protection and the benefits of a multicultural society.Every classroom is equipped with an Interactive Whiteboard (IWB), which is always used under the supervision of teachers. We encourage pupils to think critically about the advantages and disadvantages of new technologies.

Cycle 2 (Years 2-4) :
Deepening understandin
Year 2 (CP)
In CP, pupils learn to read in French whilst continuing their English language learning.
Year 3 (CE1)
In CE1, pupils at our bilingual school develop their language skills as well as their team spirit and motor skills.
- Read fluently at a minimum of 30 words per minute
- Start working independently and in groups
- Be able to describe a problem
- Answer simple questions (both orally and in writing).
Year 4 (CE2)
- Understand a 15-line text and answer questions
- Solve problems
- Work independently
- Respect others’ ideas and cooperate with others.

Cycle 3 (Years 5-6): the consolidation phase
In Cycle 3, pupils consolidate their learning across all subjects. They are introduced to science and technology, history and geography, and art history.Furthermore, we are committed to preparing our pupils for their transition to middle school by developing their skills in terms of methodology, independence and personal organisation.
