Spread across two sites in the heart of Paris’s 8th and 17th arrondissements, our bilingual international high school, EIB Étoile, welcomes 620 pupils of 55 different nationalities from Seconde-Terminale (Year 11 to Year 13).

EIB Étoile is a high school under contract with the French State for the preparation of the French Baccalaureate – classic, with a European distinction or with the BFI (Baccalauréat Français International). It also offers a pathway leading to the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma, delivered outside this state contract, depending on the chosen programme.

A rigorous academic programme

At EIB Étoile international bilingual high school, we ensure that our students receive a rigorous and progressive academic preparation for the baccalaureate exams, as well as an environment of excellence that facilitates access to higher education, both in France and internationally.

Campuses tailored to each pathway

The school is located across two sites: Seconde (Year 11) pupils and International Baccalaureate (IB) students attend classes on Rue de Londres, Paris 8th arrondissement, while French Baccalaureate students complete their final two years on Rue Villaret de Joyeuse, Paris 17th arrondissement.

The school’s excellence is reflected in its outstanding results, with a 100% pass rate for the French General Baccalaureate and the International Baccalaureate (IB). In 2025, 98% of students who graduated with the French General Baccalaureate achieved honours.

Language learning at EIB Étoile High School

EIB Étoile High School stands out for its rigorous approach to language learning, based on small class sizes and ability groups, which encourages personalised support and effective progress for each pupil.

In addition to French and English, which form the core of our curriculum, pupils have the opportunity to study several modern languages such as Spanish, German, Italian or Mandarin, in small groups that allow for in-depth learning.

Language certifications are also available: IELTS for English, Cervantes for Spanish, Dante for Italian and Goethe for German. These certifications enable pupils to acquire the skills necessary to successfully pursue their studies abroad.

The French General Baccalaureate, available in three streams: the Classic stream, the stream with European distinction, and the International stream preparing for the French International Baccalaureate (BFI);

Depending on the stream chosen within the French Baccalaureate curriculum, the emphasis placed on language teaching varies, in order to ensure a solid and progressive command of languages, preparing students to succeed in an international academic environment.

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE (IB)

50/50 English/French

The International Baccalaureate (IB), a non-state-funded programme accredited by the IBO, in which lessons are taught equally in French and English, offers a fully bilingual immersion experience.

As part of the International Baccalaureate, pupils can begin preparing for the IBDP (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme) from Seconde (Year 11) onwards. They follow a core curriculum in French and English, supplemented by specific English-language teaching in several subjects such as literature, science, economics and preparation for MUN (Model United Nations). This structure enables them to gradually become familiar with a bilingual and international education, in both humanities and science subjects.

At the end of Seconde, they can choose:

to continue with the IB Diploma Programme,
or to apply for the general Première year to take the French baccalaureate (subject to entrance exams).

Preparing for university

The school has a dedicated College Counselling service to assist with applications to international universities.

This service is supported by a team of three specialists, each covering a specific geographical area. It enables students to be informed, guided and advised on their choices, whilst receiving support in putting together their applications.

Furthermore, every year at the end of September, the school organises a University Fair, which hosts around thirty universities, offering students direct access to first-hand information to support their international career choices.

Cultural Week

Every year, EIB Étoile High School organises a Cultural Week. Held outside the usual classroom setting, this week offers Seconde and Première (Year 11 and Year 12) pupils the opportunity to take part in immersive experiences that foster cultural openness, intellectual curiosity and civic engagement.

Seconde pupils take part in a Cultural Week entirely dedicated to interdisciplinary workshops combining the arts, sciences, humanities, innovation, sport and reflection on major contemporary issues. Supervised by teaching staff and external speakers, they explore a variety of themes through creative projects, debates, group work and practical activities, thereby developing their critical thinking, independence and ability to work in a team.

Pupils in Première, meanwhile, take part in a school trip to Europe, designed as a linguistic and cultural immersion experience in major European cities. Through visits, encounters and projects carried out on site, they develop their language skills and broaden their general knowledge in areas such as history, the arts, geopolitics and heritage. Faced with real-life situations, they strengthen their organisational skills, their sense of initiative and their openness to the wider world.

School life

Extracurricular activities

EIB Étoile bilingual high school offers a dynamic and diverse programme of extracurricular activities, workshops and clubs, covering the arts, culture and sport. These activities enrich school life and enable your child to flourish and enhance their academic record.

Sports Association

This year, the sports club is offering four activities to sixth formers: swimming, futsal, volleyball and climbing.

Swimming

Training sessions take place on Mondays from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm at the Henry de Montherlant swimming pool. Competitions, when scheduled, take place on Wednesday afternoons.

Futsal

Training sessions and matches take place on Saturday mornings from 10am to 12pm at the Fond des Princes sports hall. Tournaments are organised at the end of each term. Futsal is played indoors and is similar to five-a-side football.

Volleyball

Training sessions and matches on Saturday mornings from 10am to 12pm at the Léon Biancotto sports hall.

Workshops and clubs

At EIB Étoile bilingual high school, club life is driven primarily by the students’ own initiative. Supervised by the teaching staff, the Student Council supports the creation and organisation of clubs each year, devised by the students themselves based on their interests and the projects they wish to develop. The list of clubs therefore changes from year to year, reflecting the creativity and commitment of our school communities. This year, no fewer than 32 clubs are on offer and generally meet once a week.

Pupils wishing to set up a new club are invited to submit a structured proposal to the Headteacher: objectives, organisation, provisional schedule and impact on the school community must be clearly defined. This process fosters a sense of responsibility in pupils, develops their initiative and organisational skills, and provides a real-world learning experience in project management.

Among the clubs enjoying great success are the Debate Club, the Public Speaking Club and the cultural and artistic clubs, which encourage public speaking, open-mindedness and creativity. Those passionate about science, technology and innovation can get involved in ambitious projects – sometimes in partnership with leading institutions such as the CNES, the CNRS or the École normale supérieure – whilst others choose to get involved in social, environmental or entrepreneurial clubs, in line with our ‘Écolycée’ label, which places environmental awareness at the heart of school life.

The Debate Club is a prime example of this dynamic: every week, it brings together students from all year groups to debate current affairs in English and prepare for prestigious international conferences such as the Harvard Model Congress Europe (HMCE), the Yale Model Government Europe in Budapest and the Globeducate Model United Nations, reflecting the international outlook and academic excellence promoted by our school.

Homework Support

We also offer an after-school support programme comprising supervised study sessions, advanced tuition and preparation for CPGE (preparatory classes for the grandes écoles), themed workshops, preparation for language certifications and the SAT, current affairs talks, and preparation for the BIA (basic aviation certificate).

This programme is enhanced by general knowledge lessons, delivered for two hours a week in Seconde (Year 11), then one hour a week in Première and Terminale (Years 12 and 13), as well as a supplementary biology course in Year 13 for pupils planning to study healthcare (PASS), lasting 1.5 hours a week. Mental preparation sessions are also offered to help students better manage the stress and anxiety associated with academic demands; these discussion sessions are also open to parents.

Furthermore, for students wishing to study abroad, the Counselling Department supports students at every stage of the international application process, offering personalised and strategic guidance to best prepare them for entry to the most selective foreign universities.

Parents’ Association

The Parents’ Association of EIB Étoile bilingual high school is a joint organisation operating within EIB Monceau primary school, Monceau middle school and Étoile high school. It considers all parents to be an integral part of the bilingual international school community. As such, it supports pupils to help them reach their full potential and prepare for the next stages of their educational journey, particularly their post-secondary education.

The association’s mission is to:

represent parents and pupils, by listening to them and providing support and guidance throughout their time at EIB;
build a relationship of trust and maintain a constructive dialogue between the school and families;
enrich school life and strengthening the cohesion of the school community.

The association plays an active role in the life of the school through a range of activities. It helps to enrich student life by supporting educational projects and student-led initiatives, assisting pupils in their search for work placements, and promoting the international dimension of EIB Paris.

It also offers support to families by welcoming new arrivals, organising cultural events and outings, gathering feedback from parents, and facilitating access to certain forms of financial assistance. Thanks to the involvement of parent representatives, a regular and structured link is maintained between families and the school. The association also publishes an annual directory and distributes newsletters to keep the community informed.

Every year, the association organises numerous events bringing together parents and pupils, such as the charity gala, end-of-year parties, school fairs and graduation ceremonies. It also plays an active role in the school’s social life by supporting various celebrations throughout the year.

Finally, it works alongside charitable and humanitarian organisations by organising fundraising drives and various community initiatives.
