EIB de la Jonchère private school offers bilingual education for pupils from nursery to middle school. Located 20 minutes from La Défense and 30 minutes west of Paris, EIB de la Jonchère is a private, secular, bilingual school located in La Celle-Saint-Cloud in the Yvelines (78). 

Our bilingual school follows the French Ministry of Education’s curriculum whilst delivering 50% of lessons in English and 50% in French.

Innovation is at the heart of our educational approach. Our school’s curriculum fully integrates new technologies and robotics, particularly through interdisciplinary projects focused on STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Robotics, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics). These projects encourage creativity, problem-solving and collaborative learning – essential skills to prepare our pupils for the challenges of the future.

The educational principles of our bilingual school are based on a caring approach that supports high standards, and we believe in active teaching that places the pupil at the heart of the learning process.

Partnerships that open up the world

EIB schools are part of the Globeducate network, one of the world’s leading international groups for primary and secondary education.EIB de la Jonchère actively participates in most of the events on the Globeducate calendar. Our pupils take part in a variety of international initiatives such as the Robotics Challenge, the Global Olympics and Eco Week.

In 2025, EIB de la Jonchère took part in the Globeducate Music Festival for the first time, with the school represented by its violinists and singers.

These enriching experiences enable our pupils to collaborate with others from all over the world, develop their skills and embrace a truly international culture.

Our partnership with the WWF is reflected in educational initiatives dedicated to protecting the environment and biodiversity. As part of this, the 2026 ‘Wear It Wild’ day mobilised the entire school community to raise awareness of endangered animal species.
 

Our academic mission

A truly international education

The mission of EIB Paris bilingual schools is to educate the global citizens of tomorrow, capable of working to bring peoples and nations closer together through a bilingual education and an openness to other cultures.

Our educational approach is based on three core principles:

  1. From the first year of nursery school, children learn in a bilingual environment, with lessons divided equally between French and English. Half of the weekly timetable is taught in English, encouraging a natural and gradual acquisition of the language.
     
  2. We follow the French curriculum, which we enrich using teaching methods from the English-speaking world, based in particular on experimentation, active participation and working together.

    Beyond language, the bilingualism we foster is above all cultural. Our pupils move daily between two educational worlds – French-speaking and English-speaking – that complement each other. This dual approach encourages open-mindedness, adaptability and a nuanced understanding of the codes and ways of thinking specific to each culture.

    This richness is also reflected in our teaching team, which, like our pupils, is international, committed and brings a variety of approaches to the table.
     
  3. English teaching is based on the Cambridge Assessment International Education programme, a global benchmark for academic excellence. This structured framework enables our pupils to develop solid and lasting language skills, whilst preparing for internationally recognised qualifications (Cambridge English Qualifications). In line with this, we also offer preparation for IGCSE exams, thereby providing our pupils with a rigorous academic assessment of their language proficiency.

    Upon completing their education at our school, our pupils—fully bilingual and equipped with a strong international outlook—are able to choose freely between a French-speaking or English-speaking academic pathway when they enter high school.

Particularly committed to environmental issues, the teams at EIB de la Jonchère are actively engaged in a practical approach to education for sustainable development. They work closely with the international Eco-Schools programme, with the aim of obtaining this globally recognised label.

Through this initiative, pupils are made aware of major environmental issues and encouraged to become responsible and committed individuals.

Getting involved and taking action: the Service as Action programme

Inspired by the IB school model, the Service as Action programme encourages our pupils to become actively involved in the life of the school community. They are encouraged to design and carry out practical initiatives, thereby developing their sense of responsibility, their initiative and their civic engagement. This approach contributes significantly to their personal development and is a real asset for the rest of their educational journey.


The role of student representatives and eco-representatives is particularly valued, as are initiatives led by the students themselves. Middle school pupils thus have the opportunity to set up and run their own clubs – crochet, debating, geography or even Rubik’s Cube – fostering independence, collaboration and creativity.

EIB de la Jonchère campus is nestled in the heart of a park covering nearly 2 hectares, allowing our pupils to spend every day in close contact with nature. Located 20 minutes from La Défense and 30 minutes west of Paris, EIB de la Jonchère private bilingual school is situated between Bougival and La Celle-Saint-Cloud in the Yvelines (78). The Yvelines are known worldwide for the Palace of Versailles and its gardens, but the area is also home to the St-Germain-en-Laye National Forest and the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse Regional Nature Park.

Our facilities

The campus is equipped with several sports fields and an indoor swimming pool, as well as a movement skills room. For outdoor play, there are four different playgrounds, each tailored to a specific age group. Every classroom is equipped with an Interactive Digital Screen.

Continuing education within EIB bilingual school group

After completing their studies at our bilingual primary school, pupils can continue their education at EIB de la Jonchère middle school, located on the same campus in the Yvelines. After this school, pupils can remain within the EIB Paris group by joining EIB Étoile bilingual high school.

All about languages at EIB de la Jonchère

For over 70 years, EIB Paris, through its bilingual schools, has been fostering an educational programme that is unique in France. We are proud to offer our pupils a multilingual and multicultural environment.

EIB de la Jonchère bilingual school welcomes pupils from a variety of backgrounds and offers them a bilingual French-English education at all levels. Teaching at our bilingual school is divided equally between English and French. Spanish is introduced in 6ème (Year 7) as a third modern language.

To fulfil this commitment to a fully multilingual education, pupils benefit from a higher weekly timetable than that of state schools or private schools under contract with the state. There are three extra hours of teaching per week in nursery and primary school, and five extra hours per week in middle school. Furthermore, our pupils have lessons every day of the week, including Wednesday mornings.

At our bilingual school, pupils also sit the International Cambridge Exams to certify their level of English.

Personalised language support 

We offer language support tailored to each pupil’s needs, enabling them to flourish fully and achieve a near-native level of proficiency. From Year 3 (CE1) onwards, immersion classes for non-French-speaking or non-English-speaking pupils provide an environment conducive to rapid and lasting language acquisition.

In middle school, an intensive French language programme is offered to non-French-speaking pupils in 6ème and 5ème (Years 7 and 8).

In very small groups, these pupils follow the core elements of the curriculum whilst developing their language skills, supported by specialist teachers.

The aim is to enable them to return to their regular class as soon as they are ready, equipped with the tools they need to succeed fully.

Application fee: €300
Enrolment fee for 2026–2027: €1,800*Mandatory, non-refundable fees.

Extra language tuition, in French or English, is offered to pupils in Years 7 and 8 (6ème and 5ème) if needed. This carries a mandatory fee subject to the school’s decision following a test.

A message from the Head of School at EIB de la Jonchère

EIB de la Jonchère is a unique school where pupils aged 3 to 15 learn in a bilingual French-English environment. The school’s values, recognised by the whole community, are: diversity, multilingualism and kindness. 

Our team, comprising around thirty native French- and English-speaking teachers, is committed to supporting each pupil on their educational journey. Through an active and caring approach to teaching, we help them develop critical thinking, intellectual curiosity and digital skills that will enable them to thrive in a constantly changing world.

Uniforms

To foster a sense of belonging and respect among our pupils, all pupils wear a uniform. The dress code is white and navy blue. From Year 2 (CP) onwards, a sports uniform is also compulsory. You can purchase the school uniform from our online shop.

At EIB de la Jonchère international bilingual school, learning does not take place solely in the classroom. Our extracurricular activities are designed to nurture our pupils’ interests and, we hope, spark new ones. We offer a combination of games and learning, as well as homework help and revision sessions from CP-3ème (Years 2-10).

Parents’ Association

The APEIB aims to support EIB de la Jonchère international bilingual school in organising school events, developing community projects and certain communication initiatives.The events organised by the association aim to:

  • Bring families and the school community together. Traditional initiatives include the annual welcome breakfast, Halloween, the Christmas party, Sports Day, Music Day, the Talent Show, the end-of-year fair, as well as many other events.
  • Introduce pupils to different cultures throughout the year, through events such as Thanksgiving, Chinese New Year and International Day.
  • Strengthening pupils’ social engagement through charitable initiatives and various fundraising activities
