Located in the 16th arrondissement near the Trocadéro, a hôtel particulier with secure access, EIB Lamartine private bilingual school welcomes children from Paris and all over the world. Its location in the heart of Paris allows it to benefit from a rich and varied cultural offering, with world-renowned museums, galleries and monuments just a stone’s throw from the school.

We are a secular bilingual primary school with over 220 pupils aged 3 to 10. EIB Lamartine offers a bilingual French curriculum under a partnership agreement with the State, complemented by an exclusive programme of daily English lessons. 

EIB Lamartine is a school on a human scale, where the close relationship between the teaching staff and families is a real asset.

The mission of EIB Paris private bilingual schools is to educate global citizens and to bring peoples and nations closer together through a bilingual education and an openness to other cultures.

As well as developing their intellectual and linguistic abilities, pupils at EIB Lamartine also learn to explore the environment around them. We are proud to be a UNESCO partner school and to collaborate with the WWF on various projects. 

The teams at EIB Paris bilingual private schools also work closely with the international education for sustainable development programme “Eco-Schools”, a globally recognised scheme.

Continuing education within the EIB Group

At the end of their time at our bilingual primary school in Paris’s 16th arrondissement, pupils at EIB Lamartine can continue their education at one of the two EIB Paris private bilingual middle schools: EIB Monceau middle school in Paris’s 8th arrondissement or EIB de la Jonchère middle school in the Yvelines.

All about languages at EIB Lamartine

At EIB Lamartine bilingual primary school, English lessons begin at the age of 3, with one hour a day in Petite Section (Nursery) and one and a half hours a day from Grande Section (Year 1) onwards, taught by qualified English-speaking teachers.

Pupils are divided into groups by ability, ranging from beginners to native speakers. In addition to the four days of lessons, cultural and artistic workshops in English are offered on Wednesday mornings.

Through fun and interactive methods (games, songs, etc.), pupils develop their speaking skills whilst maintaining a solid foundation in French. The school also offers a wide range of activities and workshops in English, encouraging the gradual learning of the language and the discovery of new subjects in a stimulating and supportive environment. For pupils joining EIB Lamartine bilingual primary school in CM1 or CM2 (Year 5 or 6), a minimum level of English is required.

From CM1 onwards, pupils have the opportunity to take Spanish as a second modern language, with two hours of lessons per week. Following a set curriculum, Spanish is studied both orally and in writing for two hours a week.

Certifications
At the end of CM2, all pupils prepare for and sit the ‘Cambridge Young Learners’ exam, accredited by the British Council.

A word from the Head of School at EIB Lamartine

Our school is an international, bilingual, secular school where high standards, kindness, respect for others and adherence to school rules go hand in hand.

We ensure that children are happy at school, that they flourish academically and personally, and that they cultivate a love of learning, hard work and dedication in order to achieve academic excellence.

Our teaching staff

The teaching team comprises eleven French teachers, six English teachers, a music teacher, a head of student welfare, two ASEM staff members and sports instructors. The catering team consists of three people.

To foster a sense of belonging and respect among our pupils, all pupils at EIB Lamartine wear a uniform. You can purchase the school uniform exclusively from our online shop.

Extracurricular activities

Extracurricular activities at our EIB Lamartine bilingual primary school are available from Reception year onwards. They take place at lunchtime or in the evenings after 4.30pm and are led by teachers from our school or caring professionals. 

A wide range of extracurricular activities is available from the MS (Reception) to CM2 (Year 6): chess, robotics, coding, science experiments, drama, music, cooking, yoga… every day from 4.30pm to 5.30pm, during the lunch break from 12.30pm to 1pm, and on Wednesday mornings with the English-language ‘Happy Wednesday’ programme, from 9am to 12pm. 

All classes benefit from two weekly sports sessions integrated into the school timetable (motor skills, physical expression, tennis, circus skills, swimming, athletics, basketball or baseball, depending on the year group).

Parents’ Association

The APE, our parents’ association, works closely with the school’s management team and our teachers to support the well-being and development of the children at EIB Lamartine bilingual private school.

The association acts as a link between the school and parents. It organises events and sales to raise funds for the school and for charitable projects such as sending books and school supplies to Cambodia and Burkina Faso. The PTA also supports the school’s environmental goals by creating a vegetable garden on the school grounds and providing equipment for waste sorting and recycling. 

Throughout the year, entertaining and family-friendly events are organised by our bilingual school in Paris’s 16th arrondissement, EIB Lamartine.
