EIB Lamartine bilingual nursery school

At EIB Lamartine bilingual nursery school in Paris’s 16th arrondissement, children can join the Petite Section (Nursery) from the age of 2 – provided they have turned 3 by 31 December of the current school year. Supervised by dedicated teachers and nursery assistants, they receive attentive support, tailored to their own pace, which encourages steady progress in a reassuring environment. 

In the Petite Section, the school day is organised on a part-time basis to encourage a gradual and smooth adjustment to the school routine. Pupils are divided into two groups of no more than 12 children, ensuring individualised support. Each group is supervised by a teacher and a teaching assistant, providing attentive, reassuring and personalised care for every pupil.  

The morning group is for children born between 1 July and 31 December, whilst the afternoon group is for children born between 1 January and 30 June. Pupils attend five days a week, including Wednesdays. 

On Wednesdays, Petite Section pupils have three hours of lessons entirely in English with the same native-speaking teacher. 

In addition, in the Petite Section, pupils enjoy 45 minutes of music, physical awareness activities in the playground, as well as workshops organised in the classroom.

From the Moyenne Section onwards, children attend school full-time, four days a week (with no school on Wednesdays). In an active and stimulating environment, and divided into ability groups, children have one hour of English daily, organised into ability groups (Core / Developing / Extension) based on the National Geographic (British curriculum) programmes. From the Moyenne Section onwards, EIB Lamartine bilingual nursery school in Paris offers ‘Happy Wednesdays’, workshops conducted entirely in English to help children absorb the language as a natural means of communication. 

The development of listening and speaking skills continues in the final year of nursery school, where children continue to have one hour of English a day following structured programmes tailored to each level of ability. 

Beyond core learning, our pupils enjoy 45 minutes of music per week, physical awareness sessions in the playground and a variety of workshops organised in the classroom. These activities help to develop motor skills, creativity, independence and self-confidence.

We also have an after-school club for children from the Moyenne Section onwards, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm. This service is available for year-round use or on an occasional basis, depending on the needs and circumstances of each family. 

Uniforms are compulsory from nursery onwards at EIB Lamartine bilingual school. Pupils wear an EIB smock, designed with the little ones in mind. Beyond its practical function, this garment helps to foster a calm atmosphere and a shared sense of identity from the very first years of school life.
