In the heart of Paris, just a stone’s throw from the Arc de Triomphe, EIB Monceau secular bilingual primary school was the EIB Group’s first bilingual school. Founded in 1954, it operates under a contract of association with the State and welcomes nearly 900 pupils from Maternelle to CM2, across three buildings situated around Parc Monceau (8th arrondissement). 

The curriculum taught at EIB Monceau bilingual Primary school in Paris’s 8th arrondissement follows the official programme of the French Ministry of Education, supplemented by an exclusive English programme that begins in the Petite Section of nursery school.

A truly international education

Since its inception, EIB Monceau Primary School has been committed to preparing its pupils to become global citizens through a rigorous, enriching and caring education. We believe that every pupil deserves attentive and rigorous support. Through active teaching methods and a truly international education, we provide our pupils with a solid and lasting intellectual foundation. 

Personalised support is provided through supplementary educational activities and schemes tailored to each child’s needs. As an inclusive school, EIB Monceau bilingual Primary school supports certain pupils with special needs in close partnership with their families and within our capabilities. 

Mastery of the French language and learning about French culture are at the heart of the mission of our private primary school in the 8th arrondissement of Paris.

Partnerships that promote environmental awareness

As well as developing their intellectual and linguistic abilities, pupils at EIB Monceau private Primary school also learn to explore the environment around them. We are proud to be a UNESCO-affiliated bilingual school and to collaborate with the WWF on various projects. The teams at EIB Paris bilingual private schools also work closely with the international education for sustainable development programme “Eco-Schools”, a scheme now recognised worldwide.

Embracing art and culture

We offer a wide range of enriching experiences outside the classroom, with over 200 cultural activities and outings organised each year. Pupils also have the opportunity to take part in school trips, notably to London and Burgundy, which fosters cultural and linguistic openness. 

Furthermore, an Art History programme, integrated into the national curriculum, complements these experiences by developing pupils’ artistic awareness and general knowledge.

Continuing education within the EIB Group

Upon completing their primary education at EIB Monceau Primary School, pupils naturally continue their education at EIB Monceau Middle School. This continuity ensures a smooth and consistent transition, in keeping with the bilingual approach and academic standards that characterise EIB network.

All about languages at EIB Monceau bilingual Primary school

The curriculum taught at EIB Monceau follows the official programme of the French Ministry of Education, supplemented by an ambitious language policy. 

All our language teachers are native speakers and qualified teachers in their home countries, which allows pupils to be exposed to the full richness of the language. At every level, our specialist teachers adapt to the different linguistic and cultural needs of each child.

Responsible use of technology

All classrooms at EIB Monceau bilingual Primary school in Paris 8 are equipped with interactive whiteboards. Pupils are introduced to digital technologies from the start of their schooling through age-appropriate interactive games. The aim of this learning is to familiarise pupils with the use of IT tools to support the curriculum. Throughout their schooling, pupils acquire the various digital skills required by the French national education system. The youngest pupils use edutainment websites and graphic design software, as well as engaging in programming activities on computers or tablets.  

From CE2 onwards, pupils at our bilingual school are gradually introduced to keyboard skills and the basic uses of digital technology. This progression enables them, by the end of primary school, to use word processing and presentation tools with ease. We follow the Ministry’s curriculum, which requires us to introduce pupils to the basic principles of programming and robotics.

In CM2, every pupil has their own tablet, which is integrated into their learning and used exclusively for educational purposes. Pupils also take part each year in the Globeducate Robotics Challenge, which helps them develop their skills in programming, logic and collaborative work.

A Message from the Head of School at EIB Monceau Primary school  

Welcome to EIB Monceau Primary, a school of excellence located in the 8th arrondissement in the heart of Paris. Situated in Parc Monceau since 1954, the school uses the park as a playground.

Rooted in a city of inestimable cultural richness, our school offers a diverse cultural programme. Pupils explore history, art and the many opportunities that make Paris an exceptional environment for intellectual development. We complement this approach with enriching educational trips that open up new perspectives.

At EIB Monceau, our mission is to provide every pupil with the tools to thrive in a multicultural world, whilst fostering academic and personal excellence.

School life

Uniformes

To encourage intellectual expression rather than outward appearance, EIB Monceau private bilingual Primary school has established a dress code consisting of two plain colours: navy blue and white. All clothing must be plain, without logos or patterns. Coats must be navy blue. A navy blue uniform smock is required for PS, MS, GS and CP classes.

Extracurricular activities

Our extracurricular programme covers cultural, artistic, scientific, digital, sporting and public speaking topics, allowing each pupil to flourish according to their interests. Some of our extracurricular activities are conducted in English, others in French. 

We offer activities for pupils enrolled at EIB Monceau Primary School as well as those not enrolled.

After-school care

  • We offer an after-school childcare service, from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

Parents’ Association

The Parents’ Association (APE) is a joint organisation active within EIB Monceau Primary school, Monceau Middle school and Étoile High School. 

Their mission is to:

  • Represent parents and pupils: listening to them and providing support and guidance throughout their time at EIB.
  • Build a special relationship and maintain a constructive dialogue between our international private school and parents
  • Bringing vitality to the life of our international school and our community.

Each year, the association organises various events for parents and pupils: an annual charity gala, end-of-year parties, school fairs and graduation ceremonies. To mark the many celebrations throughout the year, it also organises activities and festive decorations.
Furthermore, the association supports charitable and humanitarian organisations through food drives and other fundraising initiatives.
