Located on Rue Decamps, near the Trocadéro Esplanade and the Eiffel Tower, the private bilingual school EIB Trocadéro in Paris’s 16th arrondissement offers pupils the opportunity to enjoy their schooling in a warm and welcoming environment.

Our international bilingual school offers a truly bilingual education, with a balanced split of 50% of lessons in English and 50% in French. The curricula followed are those of the French Ministry of Education and are significantly enriched in French and mathematics.

Nestled in a distinctive building in Paris’s 16th arrondissement, our EIB Trocadéro school has its own playground. The studious and caring atmosphere fosters an environment conducive to learning and the pupils’ personal development. Our stable and experienced teaching team fully understands the importance of a local school whilst meeting the specific needs of expatriate families.

Our core objectives:

To provide every pupil with a caring and nurturing environment where they enjoy learning and growing

To guide our pupils towards academic excellence

To nurture responsible, tolerant citizens who are able to communicate effectively and adapt to the challenges of tomorrow’s world

Our academic mission

A truly international education

The progressive curriculum from Maternelle (Nursery) to CM2 (Year 6) is designed to prepare our pupils as effectively as possible for the next stage of their education. Building a solid foundation in the core subjects of French, mathematics and English is at the heart of our approach. At EIB Trocadéro bilingual primary school, our educational approach is based on three main pillars:

  1. Immersing children in a bilingual environment from the Petite Section of nursery school: from the moment they start school, pupils follow a balanced timetable, with 50% of lessons taught in English and 50% in French.
  2. Building a solid foundation for a happy and successful school career: our approach is based on the French curriculum, combined with Anglo-Saxon teaching methods centred on experimentation and collaboration. By the end of primary school, our pupils have mastered the entire official curriculum in French, mathematics and English, enabling them to continue their education in either the French-speaking or English-speaking system, as they choose.
  3. Welcoming pupils into small classes for individualised support: thanks to small class sizes and enhanced supervision, our teachers provide personalised support, enabling each pupil to progress at their own pace and acquire the skills necessary for their development.

Partnerships that open up the world

As part of its partnership with the WWF, EIB Trocadéro takes part in ‘Wear It Wild’ day, an initiative to raise awareness of the protection of endangered species. On this occasion, pupils are encouraged to come dressed as animals to support the cause of biodiversity in a fun and engaging way.

The school also works closely with Eco-Schools, the largest international programme for sustainable schools. In 2025, our school was awarded a Silver status.

Continuing education within the EIB Group

After completing their studies at our bilingual primary school in Paris’s 16th arrondissement, pupils at EIB Trocadéro can continue their education at one of the two EIB private, secular, bilingual middle schools: the state-funded bilingual international middle school EIB Monceau in Paris’s 8th arrondissement, or the bilingual international middle school EIB de la Jonchère in the Yvelines, which offers a 50/50 bilingual curriculum.

All about languages at EIB Trocadéro

Every pupil at EIB Trocadéro international bilingual primary school, whatever their level, benefits from a bilingual French-English programme.

A French as a Foreign Language (FLE) option is available for pupils whose first language is not French from CE1 (Year 3) to CM1 (Year 5).

To ensure a fully bilingual learning experience, our pupils have more lessons per week than in a state or traditional school: two extra hours are dedicated each week to bilingual teaching at EIB Trocadéro. Our pupils have lessons every day, including Wednesday mornings.

Mandarin is also offered as an optional subject from CE2 (Year 4) onwards.

Certifications

To have our pupils’ English proficiency assessed by an external body, CM1 and CM2 pupils (Year 5 and Year 6) sit the Cambridge English qualification.
