Our Bilingual Primary School Programme

At primary school, our students combine all the usual classes as outlined in the French National Curriculum with additional English language learning.

Teaching at EIB Paris Bilingual Primary Schools

Depending on the school, between 25 and 50% of the school day is spent in English. In their last year of primary school, students can take the Cambridge Young Learners English exam.

With small class sizes and dedicated attention, our students thrive while learning about new technology, the importance of protecting the environment and the benefits of a multicultural society.

Each classroom has an interactive whiteboard, always used under the supervision of teachers. We encourage students to apply critical thinking around the benefits and pitfalls of new technologies.

Immersion classes in our Primary Schools

Joining a bilingual school in France often requires having a certain level of French and English, which is not always the case for children who have lived abroad for years, or since they were born.

We provide these students with the best suitable option: our immersion classes offered by EIB Monceau, EIB Grenelle and EIB de La Jonchère. For one year, students join a class that is focused on intensive language lessons, without losing an academic year.

EIB de la Jonchère offers immersion classes through the Language Integration Programme (LIP) for pupils from CE1 to CM1 (2nd to 4th Grade) who are not fluent in French or English.

In order to meet the requirements of students who do not speak French, or lack fluency, the school has set up immersion programmes from CM1 to CM2. From September 2021, the school will also offer English immersion classes for students in CE1 / CE2 who do not speak fluent English, this time with 75% of classes taught in English and 25% in French.

EIB Monceau, a bilingual school in the 8th district of Paris, welcomes students from Petite Section to CM2, and offers bilingual education that includes 25% English and 75% French classes. Children who do not speak fluent French from CP to CM2 can also join our immersion classes.
